Maple Ridge man drives car into ditch

Drunk driving charges are being sought against a 35-year-old Maple Ridge man who drove his car into a ditch Saturday night.

Police were called about the crash around 10 p.m. It occurred  in the 20200-block of Golden Ears Way.

The driver and lone occupant of a Honda Prelude exhibited signs of being impaired by alcohol.  His breath samples were analyzed at twice the legal limit of .08 per cent.

The man was later released from police custody when a friend came to pick him up.   He will have to appear on a later date to answer to impaired driving charges, police said.

 

Construction theft

Ridge Meadows RCMP are investigating a break, enter, and theft from a construction site on 121 Avenue in Maple Ridge.

Sometime between Thursday and Sunday,  a wire fence at the site was cut and a pressure washer and plate tamper were stolen.

Boat stolen

RCMP are looking for an aluminum boat stolen from Pitt Lake on the weekend.

A 12-foot, grey 1997 Scout boat, which had a 10 horse power outboard motor, was taken from the boat dock at the end of Neaves Road in Pitt Meadows sometime between late Sunday and early Monday.

The boat had Washington State licence and markings on it.
