A 41-year-old Maple Ridge man was arrested Thursday for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

Robert Allen Vrban appeared in court on Friday and was remanded in custody.

“The circumstances of this arrest have resulted in two charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking being laid against Mr. Vrban,” Cpl. Brenda Winpenny said.

Vrban was arrested around 10:45 p.m. Thursday, April 7, in the 22200-block of Lougheed Highway.

Police seized substantial quantity of what is believed to be methamphetamine and heroin, as well as a large sum of money.

Police had been looking for him on another matter for a month, Winpenny added.
