Maple Ridge thrift store robbed

RCMP are investigating a robbery of a thrift store in downtown Maple Ridge on Thursday.

A male was seen stealing from employee’s purses in the Haney Plaza mall, 22255 Dewdney Trunk Road, around 3:30 p.m.

When confronted, police said, the suspect claimed he had a weapon and demanded money.

He left the store after getting an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, mid 20s, 5’10’’ with a medium build. He was wearing dark clothing and carrying a dark backpack. He had a rough, dirty appearance and walked out of the store onto Dewdney Trunk Road.
