March 17 WEEKENDER: Tasty Tidbits – Norma’s cookbook

Last week, I received a cookbook from a customer of mine. Not just any cookbook but her special cookbook.

This is a thank you to Norma for sharing with me.

Last week, I received a cookbook from a customer of mine. Not just any cookbook but her special cookbook.

I am very proud to have gained this book to add to my collection of cookbooks. You see Norma and her husband are moving, moving from their home into a smaller residence, with this move a downsizing.

So I very much appreciate her thinking of me when she had to make the hard decision what to keep and not keep.  “Your cookbook came with history, memories and love.”  Taped together and an elastic holding a short note that read, “I thought you might be one person who will get a kick out of this cookbook,” and I certainly have.

Recipes I had never heard of, ones I thought sounded appealing, ones I know I won’t try, but every page interesting.  I loved the hand-written notes, the helpful hints, the extra recipes taped inside and the stains and smudges.

I haven’t had a chance to try anything, yet it’s too much fun reading through it. A big thank you to Norma and her husband and to all the other wonderful people who share their recipes and ideas. Don’t stop, I love it. That’s what food is all about, sharing.

I may not have one of Norma’s recipes to share with you but this one has gotten such rave reviews from good cooks I can pass it on.

Remember to enjoy.
