Police are investigating charges of uttering threats after a standoff occurred at a Martin Street residence on Monday.
A government agency called the RCMP informing police that one of their clients had threatened to attend their office in Penticton with a gun.
RCMP said the man was suicidal. Police attended the man’s Martin Street residence and despite his residence being barricaded, police were able to reach the man by phone. The man agreed with the police officer to exit the residence and he was apprehended. The man was eventually admitted to the psychiatric unit at the Penticton Regional Hospital.
A follow up investigation is underway, police said.
