Mascon sells to Telus

No layoffs anticipated in sale of Salmon Arm-based company.

A Shusawp company has sold to a giant, but officials of both organizations say there will be no job loss and the purchase will benefit clients.

Delivering communication services since 1983, Salmon Arm-based Mascon Cable has been purchased by Telus.

“We are grateful to have worked with and gotten to know the residents and businesses of the Shuswap area over the years,” says Mascon manager Darren Muloin, noting the company’s acquisition by Telus will ensure customers benefit from new Internet and TV technologies. “We will maintain our local presence in the communities we serve and are pleased to say that all Mascon team members, including me and my business partner, have accepted full-time positions with Telus.”

Muloin assures there are no plans to change staffing levels.

“It’ll be business as usual in terms of operations for the foreseeable future, and in the coming months we will develop a plan to combine our capabilities and integrate our teams,” he says.
