While many were still tied up with their New Year’s Eve plans, one individual decided to ring in the new year a different way.

West Shore RCMP are investigating after an overnight break-and-enter at the Eagle Creek Village Tim Hortons in View Royal during the early hours of Jan. 1.

Police said surveillance video shows a lone male broke into the store at about 12:18 a.m.

The suspect was wearing a black hoody, black jeans, grey shoes, orange gloves and a face mask.

Police said approximately $200 in cash was stolen as well as several mugs and coffee products.

“Police have canvassed the area and the investigation remains active to identify a suspect,” said Cpl. Chris Dovell of West Shore RCMP.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
