Cathy McLeod, Conservative Candidate for Kamloops – Thompson – Cariboo says she is looking forward to visiting with voters in the North Thompson and Cariboo districts all next week.

“The first week of the campaign has been extremely busy, with opening the campaign headquarters, filing my nomination papers  with Elections Canada and door-knocking throughout Kamloops,” said McLeod.  “We’ve also been able to reach out to the electorate through Youtube, Twitter and Facebook.”

McLeod will be in Barriere on Thursday, April 7, at The Ridge, 12 noon, for a meet and greet and a light lunch.

McLeod’s schedule for week two of Campaign 2011 is as follows:

Saturday April 2, 2011: Clinton, 70 Mile House

• Monday April 4, Valemount

• Tuesday April 5, Blue River and Vavenby

• Wednesday April 6, Clearwater

• Thursday, April 7, Barriere and Little Fort

• Friday, April 8, 100 Mile House

“I’m pleased to announce that April 4th to 6th, Senator Nancy Greene-Raine will accompany me as we travel throughout the North Thompson,” stated McLeod.

“I know that many communities in this region have experienced challenges these past two years.  I also know that, through initiatives like our work sharing program, our Economic Action Plan has made a difference. I look forward to presenting our ideas on how to protect jobs and support Canadian workers, particularly those in vulnerable sectors.”

“What has become abundantly clear as we conclude the first week of this election, and what I’ve heard repeatedly on door steps, is that people are tired of minority governments. They want a stable government that will stay the course while the world economy is still fragile,” concluded McLeod.
