The spirit of the Nechako Valley Fall Fair was kept alive with a ‘mini exhibit’ featuring photography, flower arrangements, quilting and more.
Fall Fair Fun was held at the Vanderhoof Farmers’ Market on Monday, August 23, attracting a total of 63 entries and 103 people voting in the People’s Choice awards.
“It was lots of fun, and we were just especially thankful to Jutta Schoenhardt and the people of the farmers’ market that were very welcoming…,” said Anne Egli with the Nechako Valley Exhibition Society.
“We were just tickled to have so many people provide entries and so many people who once down at the farmers’ market took the interest to walk through our display and vote and just take a look at what had been brought in.”

Winners were drawn for the kids and adult awards that each received a gift certificate provided by sponsors.
The People’s Choice was chosen by attendees who selected Morgan Gilbert, Heather Ferris and Erica Derkson as their top three favorite entries this year.
Gilbert placed first for her hand-crafted plush, appearing to be a dragon that took nine hours to complete.
“I was ecstatic when I found out because I’ve only been sewing for about a year, and it is a new passion of mine,” she said.
Last year’s ‘mini exhibit’ in partnership with the Vanderhoof Chamber of Commerce was spread out over a couple of weeks, with exhibits displayed at numerous businesses as well as the public library.
