The medical info will be in simple language most folks can understand.
Mini Med School is back in session for 2020 with two evenings featuring talks by doctors and other health professionals on topics like navigating child health and chronic pain.
There will be time for questions at the end with a robust panel of experts, a resource fair, refreshments, door prizes and more.
This year’s topics are:
• March 3 – Navigating Pediatric Health: Eat, grow, play, repeat…and use the ER wisely
• March 10 – Understanding Chronic Pain and managing persistent discomfort
This year’s presenters: March 3 – Rachel Slomp, nurse practitioner, Fraser Health; Kimberley Anne Reid, nurse practitioner, Fraser Health; and Will Wu, resident, UBC Family Medicine Residency Program.
March 10 – Dr. Aaron Bradford, family physician; Matt Smith, registered nurse, Fraser Health Chronic Pain and Substance Use Program; Kathryn Sutton, director of communications, Pain BC
Both sessions take place at the Neighbourhood Learning Centre, 46361 Yale Road, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Come early for the resource fair starting at 6:30 p.m.

Mini Med School was created by the Chilliwack Division of Family Practice, and it started as a family residency project by med students, who wanted to help educate, promote health literacy and give back to the community.
