Missing blood python named Nexxus returns home

'He was just chillin' like the villain he is,' says owner after snake went on adventure in Chilliwack

A large python is back home in Chilliwack after taking off on an adventure.

Owner Chelsie McMunn reported his safe return on Sunday, Aug. 9.

“Nexxus came home!” McMunn trumpeted on Facebook.

It was a little like the return of a lost cat or dog that had gone missing, she said.

She cried “happy tears” to discover her large blood python had slid home when she went for a smoke out back.

“He was just chillin’ like the lil villain he is,” she posted, after finding him hanging out on some concrete.

She originally posted on Facebook group ‘Lost and Found in Chilliwack’ that her pet snake went missing after midnight on Thursday (August 6) in the Yale Road area, between Menzies Street and Quarry Road after her roommate left a window open.

She was worried about him, and many folks were on the lookout. Some were very concerned.

“Thank you all for every single one of your caring, loving comments,” McMunn said after he came home over the weekend.

“He’s my baby,” McMunn wrote. “He’s shy of six-feet and, no worries, he’s more loving and gentle than a lil’ kitten.”

She posted three images of the snake shown next to a pet cat.

The python came home, according to McMunn, after experiencing “a scary adventure in the mean wilderness” for a domesticated sake.
