Saanich police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 15-year-old who has been missing since Wednesday morning.

Asher Loenen was last seen around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 28, and is believed to be on the Lower Mainland, possibly with the intent to cross the border in the United States.

Police and family are concerned he lacks the skills to sustain a camping lifestyle, and does not have money to buy food and water.

Loenen is described as 6-foot-2, 180 pounds with dirty blond hair and hazel eyes. He is believed to be wearing a blue Columbia brand jacket, a burgundy and tan Volcom hoodie and a rainbow coloured Nepalese-style toque.

He was last seen riding a purple Wheeler bicycle and carrying a blue and black backpack. He may also be in possession of camping gear.

Police are asking anyone with information on Loenen’s whereabouts to call 250-475-4321 or their local police department.
