Missing Victoria woman found safe in Nanaimo

Lia McMahon, 37, from Victoria left hospital on Sunday, needs surgery

A woman who walked away from Royal Jubilee Hospital on Sunday has been found safe in Nanaimo.

Victoria police issued a plea for assistance from the public yesterday (July 13) to find Lia McMahon, 37, when she left Royal Jubilee Hospital at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday after being told she would need emergency surgery. Doctors were concerned for her health.

McMahon was returned to the hospital and will receive the medical treatment she needs.
