A bomb threat at Mission’s Scotiabank on First Avenue has turned out to be a hoax.
The bomb squad was called in Friday afternoon after a bank robbery.
Witnesses on scene say a man walked into the Scotiabank, demanded cash and then left with an undisclosed amount of money.
As the suspect was leaving he allegedly put down a bag and claimed it had a bomb inside.
Police quickly evacuated the building and several surrounding businesses.
The bomb squad deployed a bomb removal robot into the premises. After about an hour, a member of the squad entered the building and then gave the all-clear.
Mission RCMP were removing the yellow caution tape from First Avenue at about 4:40 p.m.
