The Mission Bridge will be closed to all traffic tonight (Aug. 5) from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., according to the Mission Fire Rescue Service.
A Ministry of Transportation inspection on Aug. 3 has led to three straight days of emergency repairs, which are to conclude on Aug. 6, according to Emil Anderson Maintenance.
REMINDER: Work continues on the #Mission Bridge.
We expect completion by the end of the week. These are emergency repairs & are being done as quickly as possible.
ðŸ™Leave early, be patient, consider an alternate route & remember this is a short-term inconvenience.
Thank you https://t.co/KfKEnvrpdI

The repairs have shut down one lane in both directions since the inspection.
Travellers have been advised to plan ahead and consider alternate routes during the repair work, but southbound traffic jams have frequently built up in the mornings, and northbound jams have followed after working hours.
The Record has reached out to the Ministry of Transportation to ask about the results of the inspection, which led to immediate repair work.
