Mission RCMP have arrested a suspect in the two armed robberies that took place at the Mac’s convenience store on Seventh Avenue in late June.
The Mac’s store was victim to two armed robberies on June 21 and June 28. Both armed robberies took place during the early morning, when two individuals wearing masks entered the store and brandished an edged weapon to the lone cashier.
The cashier was bound and not harmed while remaining in close proximity to the individuals, as they removed a quantity of cigarettes from the store before departing on foot.
The Mission RCMP in partnership with the “E” Division, Forensics Identification Section began an investigation to identify the two individuals.
After extensive investigation, police arrested 28-year-old Leroy Catcheway of Burnaby.
He remains in custody and will appear in Abbotsford Provincial Court early next week for charges of armed robbery, disguise with intent and forcible confinement.
Police continue to investigate this matter, and anyone who has any information regarding these robberies are asked to contact Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-8477.
