Peter Milobar, MLA for Kamloops-North Thompson was in Barriere at the Ridge on Friday, Apr. 6, for an informal open house meet and greet with area constituents.

In advance of the event Milobar encouraged anyone who had an issue they would like to discuss with their MLA to attend.

Approximately a dozen people spent just under an hour with Milobar, including District of Barriere Mayor Virginia Smith, councilors Donna Kibble and Ward Stamer, Thompson Nicola Regional District Area ‘O’ Director Bill Kershaw, representatives from the Barriere and District Seniors Society, the North Thompson Museum & Archives, Barriere & District Heritage Society, North Thompson Fall Fair & Rodeo Association, and other area residents.

Topics discussed included the individual organizations attending, road improvements, impacts of the 2017 wildfires in the area, BC Ambulance service, and the upcoming legalization of marijuana.

At the end of the session Milobar excused himself to meet with another constituent privately.
