When the next provincial election rolls around, currently slated for 2013, Abbotsford city councillor Moe Gill will run for the B.C. Liberals in the Abbotsford South riding.
“My intention is to seek the nomination, whenever it opens,” said Gill.
Gill added that he never intended to run for the position, but was inspired to do so following encouragement from local constituents.
“It’s always exciting to do something different,” he said.
While he’s not yet concrete about the changes he would bring to the table if elected, he’s “always thinking about those things.”
Gill has served on city council since 1996 and currently sits on 11 committees, including the Fraser Valley Regional District Board and the Agricultural Select Committee.
