More food carts coming to Kelowna’s City Park

City council approves two more food carts, one selling waffles and the other tacos, for popular downtown park.

More food carts are coming to Kelowna’s City Park.

Kelowna city council has added two more—one selling waffles and one selling tacos—to the one already operating in the park during the summer months selling Vietnamese food.

The Wafelicious and Tacofino trucks will be parked beside the Vietnam Village truck  in the plaza near the Children’s Water Park this summer.

The small food truck cluster will be the first of its type in the city. Other North American cities, particularly Portland, Oregon, have become well-known for the number of food trucks they have and the quality of the food they produce.

According to the city, Wafelicious will sell different types of waffles, as well as hot dogs and chilli ,while Tacofino, which has won awards for its food in Vancouver where it also has a truck, will sell a variety of tacos, burritos, tortillas and fruit.
