The mother of Trevor Oakley, a Port Alberni man who’s been missing since Jan. 3, is pleading for the public to help find her son.
At a Jan. 27 press conference at the Port Alberni RCMP detachment, Oakley’s mother, Karen Bosch issued a plea to her son and any of his friends with information to contact her. She also asked anyone else with information on the whereabouts of her son to contact the RCMP.
Oakley was reported missing on Jan. 17 by his mother, who had last heard from him on Jan. 3 when he was known to be staying at the Port Alberni Shelter. RCMP initially thought he might be travelling to see Patricia Roseanne Nataucappo, either in Nanaimo or Gabriola Island.
Port Alberni RCMP media liaison officer, Amelia Hayden spoke at the press conference asking the public for any information on Oakley.
“The Port Alberni RCMP, with the assistance of Nanaimo and Gabriola Island, have been actively investigating his disappearance ever since receiving the report,” Hayden told the media.
“We need the public’s assistance. Trevor has now been missing for 23 days. This is a difficult time for the family and we want Trevor to come home safe. Someone has seen Trevor. We want to hear from you. If you have any information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem to you, our team of dedicated investigators want to hear it. If you are reluctant to come forward, please remember that you can pass on your information along anonymously through Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers pays up to $2000 for information.”
Oakley’s vehicle, a grey Dodge Neon, was located unoccupied in the 2800 block of Fourth Avenue in Port Alberni on Jan. 20.
Oakley is described as a Caucasian male, 183 cm or six feet tall, 82 kg or 181 lbs with short greying dark brown hair, hazel eyes and facial stubble.
Anyone who may have information on Oakley’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Port Alberni RCMP at 250-723-2424 or call Alberni Valley Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
