Pitt Meadows firefighters were on the scene of a morning rush-hour collision involving a motorcycle and a van in the eastbound lanes of Lougheed Highway.
The incident happened about 8:27 a.m., near Allen Way.
Eastbound traffic is backed-up on Lougheed from the Pitt River Bridge to Allen Way with one lane of traffic being detoured on to Allen Way.
Pitt Meadows deputy fire chief Dave Biggin said it was a serious motor vehicle accident although the extent of the injuries isn’t yet known. A RCMP accident reconstruction team was on scene until late morning
B.C. Emergency Health Services said that three paramedic crews responded and treated one patient on scene before transporting the patient to hospital in critical condition.
