Motorcyclist hurt in Vernon collision

Incident happened near Vernon Square Mall at 43rd Avenue and 32nd Street Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 4

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after it was struck by a car at the intersection of 43rd Avenue and 32nd Street.

Witnesses told Vernon North Okanagan RCMP that the motorcycle was travelling west on 43rd Avenue around 3:30 p.m. when it was struck by a passenger vehicle in the intersection.

The motorist involved remained on scene, police said.

BC Emergency Health Services responded with Vernon Fire Rescue Services and the motorcyclist was taken to hospital by ground ambulance.

This was the second collision in the area in about three hours.

Earlier Wednesday, Aug. 4, a vehicle involved in a collision leaked fluid near the entrance to the shopping area.
