A Falkland couple spent Sunday afternoon in Vernon Jubilee Hospital being treated for non-life-threatening injuries following the latest accident involving a motorcycle.
Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP report that just after 11 a.m. Sunday, they were dispatched to Westside Road for a report of a motorcycle striking a Jeep Cherokee.
“Our officers investigated and discovered that the Jeep had been stopped on Westside Road, near Williams Road, waiting to make a left turn when a Harley Davidson struck the vehicle in the rear,” said RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.
The 68-year-old driver and owner of the Harley, and his 51-year-old female passenger, were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Nobody in the Jeep was hurt, and there was minor damage done to the Cherokee.
Last weekend, a Calgary motorcyclist suffered injuries near Grindrod when he lost control of his bike after striking a concrete island on Highway 97A.
Since June, RCMP have investigated at least six accidents on North Okanagan roadways involving motorcycles.
