Snapping a panoramic view of Chilliwack’s iconic mountain view to the east is a favourite pastime for Chilliwack shutterbugs.
Here’s a chance for local photographers to make their mark in Chilliwack in a novel way.
City of Chilliwack is launching a photo contest this month seeking the best views of Mount Cheam and the Mount Thurston Range looking toward the east.
The winning photograph will be used to wrap the BC Hydro kiosk, located outside the Cheam Leisure Centre.
The Public Art Advisory Committee has been tasked with judging photo submissions and will be selecting the winning entry for council’s approval.
Deadline for photo submissions at Chilliwack City Hall is on Friday, June 3 at 4:30 p.m., and there’s a limit of two entries per person.
Photographers must be Chilliwack residents.
Digital images can be delivered on a USB drive at City Hall, and marked “Attn: Jamie Leggatt” along with the signed and completed submission form. Images can also be submitted online with scanned copy of the form at https://transfer.chilliwack.com/filedrop/leggatt@chilliwack.com
The images must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi) and submitted as digital files. Low resolution photographs will be disqualified.
Entries without contact information will be disqualified.
A $250 prize will be awarded to the contest winner at an upcoming council meeting.
