Six people are in the cross-hairs of the courts in connection to a pair of unrelated break-ins on Wednesday.
The first occurred just before noon May 28. The West Kelowna RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a residence on the 4700 block of Paradise Valley Drive.
“The homeowner had returned to find an unknown man in his house who fled the scene in a purple Dodge Stratus. Police located the car on the 2400 block of Thacker Drive and arrested the driver for the break-in,” said Const. Kris Clark.
A 36-year-old man from Spallumcheen faces potential charges of Break and Enter, Assault and Obstruction. He is expected to appear in Court sometime today.
The second incident happened shortly after 6 p.m., when West Kelowna RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress at a residence on the 2300 block of Marshall Road.
“According to witnesses, five people were seen going into the residence and loading a tool box and a computer into a red Honda Civic,” said Clark. “The suspects were still there when police arrived and were quickly taken into custody. The driver, a 25-year-old Penticton woman, was found to have a power drill and a pry bar in her purse.”
The Penticton woman faces potential charges of Possession of Break In Instruments and was held for Court today. The woman, as well as the four other suspects, also face potential charges of Break and Enter but the four were released pending further investigation.
Both investigations are ongoing.
