A Hollywood film will make its debut on the biggest screen in the North Okanagan.
A special premiere for Blackway will be held at the Starlight Drive-In in Enderby June 2.
“We want people in the area the film was shot to come,” said Rick Dugdale, president of Enderby Entertainment, named after his hometown.
Only ticket-holders will have access to the private event and the site can hold 300 cars (and as many people as can fit in those vehicles).
“Tune into the Enderby Entertainment Facebook page immediately for more information,” said Dugdale.
“Over the next 10 days, we will start the ticket giveaway process. We will release 50 tickets at a time.”
Blackway, which is R-rated, was shot in the North Okanagan in late 2014 and it stars Anthony Hopkins, Ray Liotta, Alexander Ludwig and Julia Stiles.
Dugdale isn’t sure if any of the stars will be at the premiere.
“We are still working on that. Our actors will be doing press for the movie so on that day, we are doing Good Morning America,” he said.
“We are juggling star availability.”
The drive-in was an obvious choice for the premiere says Dugdale because it will provide a lot of nostalgia.
“No one can think of a premiere at a drive-in occurring for years.”
Blackway will open June 10 at Vernon Towne Cinema.
