Ottawa – Cathy McLeod, Member of Parliament for Kamloops – Thompson – Cariboo announced recently that the period for submitting applications for funding through the Government of Canada’s Invest Canada- Community Initiatives (ICCI) program will be opened on Sept. 30, 2014.
The ICCI program provides matching contributions to municipalities and regional organizations for projects aimed at attracting, retaining, or expanding foreign direct investment. The program supports non-profit and public-private partnerships at the local community level with non-repayable contributions ranging from $3,000 to $300,000, and agreements are made for a one-year period.
“I am confident that this funding will be of great benefit to local organizations or municipalities since foreign direct investment is a key driver of our economy and supports our Government’s commitment to creating jobs,” said McLeod.
