Museum hosting wastewater session

The first public session for the Eastside committee is April 29 from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Clifford Carl Hall of the Royal BC Museum.

The Eastside wastewater treatment and resource recovery select committee holds its first public briefing April 29.

The Eastside is made up of Oak Bay, Saanich and Victoria in a bid to develop a wastewater treatment and resource recovery plan for the region.

The public session will share the process for public input over the coming three months, answer questions on what has changed and learn more about public priorities for sewage and wastewater treatment for our communities.

“We’re hoping to communicate very clearly to the public the process going forward, the constraints we’re under, the givens … really offering them the decision-making framework,” Amanda Gibbs, public engagement and communications contractor, told the committee last week.  “Our approach is really to do a lot of pulling information in.”

The first public session for the Eastside committee is April 29 from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Clifford Carl Hall of the Royal BC Museum.
