Alcohol and drug impairment are possible factors in an overnight crash Sunday, when a Ford Mustang convertible smashed through two storefronts in Fort Langley.
Around 1:30 a.m., the green Ford Mustang jumped the curb and crashed through both storefronts, ending up stuck inside Diora Boutique, located in the 9100 block Glover Road.
The 28-year-old Langley man suspected of driving the car was issued a 24-hour driving suspension, ticketed for driving without due care, failing to have a licence plate and failing to produce a driver’s licence.
He is not facing impaired charges due to the fact that police were unable to place him behind the wheel at the time of the crash.
He was questioned at the scene and issued the tickets, said police.
Meanwhile, the owners of Happy Kitchen and Diora Boutique were left to deal with significant damage to their stores. Clean up began on Sunday and continues this week. Above photo by Miranda Gathercole/Langley Times.
