Name released in diver’s death

NANAIMO: B.C. Coroners Service confirms identity of man who died while scuba diving near Nanoose Friday.

The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died while scuba diving near Nanoose on the weekend.

Paul Scott Revane, 53, of Nanaimo, was diving at a popular dive site off of Nanoose Bay late Friday afternoon when his diving companion noticed he was in distress.

The diving companion was able to bring Revane to shore where attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

The Canadian Coast Guard is assisting in the B.C. Coroners Service’s continuing investigation into Revane’s death.
