Bowen Park Complex was packed with visitors Tuesday when Nanaimo Harbour City Seniors hosted an open house.
Demonstrations, live music entertainment, singing, games, refreshments and displays of carving, quilting, mixed media art and other arts and crafts were on display by from the various groups that are part of Nanaimo Harbour City Seniors.
Joanne Husband, Nanaimo Harbour City Seniors director, said open houses are held to draw people out who might be alone and wondering what kinds of social activities are available.
“There’s seniors who live in the city who have been wondering for quite a long time what they can do to spend their time doing the things they like with friends,” Husband said.
