Police are asking for the public’s help to find the owner of a man’s ring that was recently turned in at the Nanaimo RCMP detachment.

According to an RCMP press release, the person who found the ring told police it was found Oct. 8 on Wellesley Avenue near Long Lake.

The ring is square on top with an embossed pattern in the square.

“We do not feel it is necessary to release a photo of the ring. The image on the front is quite distinct and the true owner of the ring should be able to describe what the image is,” Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman, said in the release.

Anyone with information about who may own this ring is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file No. 2020-37738.
