Nanaimo RCMP arrest teen for shooting out a car window with a BB gun

Incident happened Wednesday afternoon near Country Club Centre

Nanaimo RCMP arrested a teen suspected of shooting out a vehicle window with a BB gun.

The incident happened Wednesday afternoon near Country Club Centre.

According to a social media post by police, a 13-14-year-old youth was arrested near the mall after a vehicle window was shot out.

Officers searched the E&N trail area for the gun and subsequently found the “black handgun-style BB gun” in the suspect’s backpack.

Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman, said the youth is suspected of shooting out windows at Country Club Centre, Rock City Plaza and the BMW Nanaimo car dealership.
