The Nanaimo RCMP has a quantity of Canadian cash that was found and turned in by a Good Samaritan on a sidewalk outside of a north Nanaimo business.
According to police, the money was found Friday, May 24, at about 2:15 p.m. Police did not disclose the exact amount of money returned.
“It is a considerable amount of money and we are confident the person who lost it would at some point realize it was missing,” said Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman, in a press release.
As per RCMP policy, the money will be retained for 90 days for the lawful owner to come forward to claim it.
Anyone with information about who owns the found money is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.
