A pair of suspects were arrested following a reported break, entry and theft from a job site at Horne Lake Cave Provincial Park, north of Qualicum Beach.

Oceanside RCMP were able to nab the man and woman after being alerted to a suspected break-and-enter April 24 at 7:30 a.m. Officers were on the lookout for a suspicious vehicle, a GMC full-sized truck with body panels and hood painted in different colours. The RCMP located the “unique-looking vehicle” on Horne Lake Road and it was stopped.

The occupants were arrested and a warrant was obtained to fully search the vehicle. RCMP found items that had just been stolen from a job site at the provincial park. The items included two laptop computers, first aid kits and other items.

A 34-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman from from Nanaimo were later released on several conditions and will make a court appearance at a future date.
