The Narcosli Creek Fire is now 80 per cent contained, up from 75 per cent, the BC Wildfire Service reports today.
The fire remains estimated at 4,517 hectares. It has been at Being Held status since Tuesday.
Mop-up will become the primary field operation for crews now, says the latest update, provided Aug. 30 at 11:50 a.m.
“Thermal scanning conducted on Aug. 29 has provided good information to aid actioning hotspots and carrying out patrols,” says BCWS.
There are 41 firefighters (down from 51 yesterday) and two pieces of equipment (reduced from three) at work on the Narcosli Creek Fire today.

The Blackwater River Fire update offers no new information, with the fire remaining estimated at 8,365 hectares. It is still 100 per cent guarded and 60 per cent contained.
Thermal scanning along the fire’s northeast flank progressing to the southwest has identified hot spots that crews will address with mop-up operations, says BCWS.
Crews will also conduct direct fire attack on the southwest flank. Heavy equipment will begin rehabilitation of outer guards.
There are 27 firefighters (down from 44 yesterday) and seven pieces (reduced from 14 yesterday) of heavy equipment on site.

The North Baezaeko Fire similarly has minimal updates, with the fire still estimated at 11,508 hectares, 40 per cent guarded and 15 per cent contained.
Direct attack on the fire will be carried out from the Nazko Forest Service Road to the Blackwater River, and northward to the cutblock guard, says BCWS.
Fire guard construction will continue through Kluskoil Lake Park in the northwest. The fire guard on the north side of Poplar Mountain will be completed.
There are 62 firefighters (up from 54 yesterday) and 42 pieces of heavy equipment (up from 22 yesterday) on this fire.
The Shag Creek Fire remains estimated at 12,322 hectares and is zero per cent contained, with no crews on the ground.
All four fires in the Baezaeko Complex share 10 helicopters.

The Chutanli Creek Fire, which began in the Prince George Fire Centre but has creeped over the border into the Cariboo Regional District, is still estimated at 20,343 hectares. It is now listed as 60 per cent contained.
There are 86 firefighters (up from 64 yesterday) and 39 pieces of equipment (up from 25 yesterday) on the fire.
There are a total of nine active wildfires burning in the Quesnel Fire Zone. Two are Being Held, two are Under Control and five fires are in Out of Control status.
The largest is the Yuzkli Lake fire south of Big Valley Creek, which is estimated at 162 hectares, up from 100 hectares yesterday. This fire is being closely monitored by the BC Wildfire Service.
