The public is being invited to an information session tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 24) on a natural gas line being constructed through Surrey and Coquitlam.

FortisBC is upgrading sections of its natural gas system with a back-up line running alongside the existing one.

The Surrey stretch runs from about 92 Avenue and 132 Street, north to the South Fraser Perimeter Road.

Construction begins in February 2017 and will continue to the end of the year.

FortisBC has already started preparing the work areas, including clearing away vegetation to improve access to the right-of-way for our construction crews.

The  public information session about the project takes place in Surrey on Tuesday, Jan. 24 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Surrey Public Library, (10350 University Dr., Room 120).
