The South Okanagan Naturalists’ Club is holding an ongoing nature photo contest.
The contest is open to all residents of the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen except professional photographers.
Pictures must have been taken within the regional district.
Bob Handfield, president of the South Okanagan Naturalists’ Club, said the large size of the regional district allows for a diversity of landscapes, habitats, plants, animals and birds.
There are six categories in the contest. Each category will have its own winners and runners-up, with more than $4,500 in prizes to be given away.
The grand prize package is worth nearly $1,000.
Winers and runners-up and well as selected other photos will be displayed at the Penticton Museum this fall.
