The NDP provincial campaign for Langley got underway Saturday morning with candidate Gail Chaddock-Costello (front centre) and supporters canvassing various locations with clipboards to find people willing to sign a pledge of support.
They were also gathering signatures for a petition against the Kinder Morgan pipeline.
Chaddock-Costello is challenging incubent MLA Mary Polak, the minister of the environment, who has represented Langley since 2005.
Chaddock-Costello was acclaimed as the NDP candidate on Jan. 15.
A Fort Langley resident, she is a former president of the Langley Teachers Association who previously ran against Liberal MLA Rich Coleman in 2009.
The provincial election is set for May 9.
