Needle exchange on agenda at Kent tonight

Pacific Community Resources to speak to council on harm reduction and injection site in Agassiz

A presentation about harm reduction, from Kim Lloyd from Pacific Community Resources, is on the agenda for the District of Kent council meeting tonight.

Information and statistics from PCRS is attached to the night’s agenda, available online.

A letter from PCRS says that “harm reduction is not just about clean syringes, it is about comprehensive harm reduction including counselling, advice on sexual and reproductive health, and referrals to other health services such as rehab programs, mental health services, food and shelter, and legal services.”

PCRS has a moblie prevention program that offers injection equipment, along with information on getting help for drug addiction.

They also hand out condoms to a target population and refer clients to counselling services.

To learn more about their services, attend the council meeting tonight at 7 p.m., in the top floor of the District Hall in Agassiz.
