Neighbour helps two-year-old during domestic dispute

Terrace couple screaming at each other brings out police and ministry.

TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 25 calls for service from February 6, 8 a.m. till February 7, 8 a.m. During the same time period, there were four people lodged in Terrace Cells. Two of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

abandoned black/silver 1996 Chevrolet C15 truck in the parking lot of the Bear Country Inn.

a disgruntled customer refusing to leave a business on Lakelse Ave. Police spoke with the man who wanted the phone number of a manager. A complaint’s contact number was provided to the man but he insisted on not leaving. Police arrested the man and escorted him out of the building. The man was cooperative and agreed to deal with his complaint through the phone number provided to him and not in person.

man passed out in the washroom of a business on Lakelse Ave. Police woke the 23-year-old man up who was passed out sitting on a toilet with his pants around his ankles and arrested him for public intoxication.

man passed out in the parking lot on Greig Ave. Police were aware that BC Ambulance wished to exam the man for a medical condition. BC Ambulance attended and transported the man to Mills Memorial Hospital.

a white van almost hit a woman in a crosswalk on Kalum St. Checks were done.

hit and run to a brown 2007 Lexus ES350 parked by Greig Ave./Apsley St. The driver’s side rear quarter panel was damaged. Suspect vehicle is blue in color.

a man passed out on a toilet with his pants around his ankles in the washroom of Tim Horton’s on Lakelse Ave. Police had to enter the stall in order to wake the 33-year-old man up and arrested him for public intoxication.

hit and run in the Safeway Parking lot. A brown Dodge mini van backed into a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. Police determined that there was no damage to the Toyota and the driver of the minivan may not have known he bumped into the Toyota.

man passed out near a dumpster near M&M Meats. BC Ambulance transported the intoxicated 49-year-old man to Mills Memorial Hospital.

Elsewhere Terrace

report of a man and woman screaming at each other and the woman has a bloody face. A second call was received that a concerned neighbor took custody of a two-year-old child he believed may be injured. Police determined that the injuries the woman received were self inflicted. She was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to Mills Memorial Hospital. The child was not injured and turned over to the care of Ministry of Children and Families.

a 17-year-old boy almost backed his vehicle into a woman and her child on McConnell Ave. Police spoke with the people involved.

a 21-year-old man is in breach of his probation order. Under investigation.

uttering threats. Police spoke with the woman and a safety plan is established.

Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested an 18-year-old woman for theft. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

assist Hazelton RCMP with a motor vehicle incident investigation.

domestic dispute. A woman would not let a man back into a residence to get some of his belongings. Police attended and assisted the man.

a loud bang was heard near a residence on McConnell Ave. Checks were done of the area.

a Motorola cell phone with a cracked screen was lost at the Denny’s Restaurant.

Thornhill

a Jeep heading the wrong way down Hwy 16 east near the Petrocan gas station. Checks were done.

Rural

assist Kelowna RCMP with a warrant.

a vehicle parked at the Terrace Airport with keys in the ignition and personal belongings in the vehicle. Police spoke with the registered owner.
