It’s not too late to take part in the 19th annual Fat Tire Festival in Nelson. Running all weekend, this is a three day celebration of all things bicycle…from a parade, to kids races, group rides and a party.
Today is Kootenay Kasino Day. The Smallwood trails were graced with a group ride this morning and the Black Jack Downhill shuttle to Give Out Creek left from Sacred Ride. This afternoon the Mountain Station Poker ride starts at 3 p.m. from the parking lot in the Uphill neighbourhood. The Roots, Rocks and Rhythm Party will bring riders together at the Royal in the evening.
Sunday will see Morning Mountain Madness in Blewett full of cross country riders, including a kids’ course. The showcase event is the big downhill ride on the new rolling, bermy DH course beginning at 1 p.m.
