Nelson moves to Level 3 water restrictions

Watering with irrigation or sprinkler systems prohibited and no washing cars, sidewalks or buildings

  • Aug. 27, 2018 12:00 a.m.

Starting tomorrow, Nelson is moving to Level 3 water restrictions. The city posted the following message this morning:

There is little rain in the forecast and flows in our source water creeks are rapidly declining. This means that outdoor watering with irrigation or sprinkler systems is strictly prohibited.

If you have a system on a timer or schedule, please ensure you shut your system down. Watering is only permitted with a hand held container, micro/drip irrigation or hose with a shut-off nozzle during the hours of 4:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. daily, any day of the week.

Washing vehicles, sidewalks, the exterior of buildings, filling pools or fountains or watering of new sod is strictly prohibited.
