Local politicians and Auguston residents are celebrating the opening of a new park Friday, and there will be ice cream.
Shadbolt Park, in the Auguston subdivision, will get an official opening at 10 a.m. with what the city has described as an “ice cream social.”
The city promised the park, located at 35984 Shadbolt Avenue, would have amphitheatre seating around a plaza, sitting areas and, during the summer, spray nozzles.
The park’s budget was about $600,000.
