In celebration of Citizenship Week, on Thursday (Oct. 16), the Institute for Canadian Citizenship and Citizenship and Immigration Canada will welcome and celebrate 35 new Canadians from 17 countries at a special community citizenship ceremony at the Royal B.C. Museum.
The day begins with roundtable discussions on what it means to be Canadian. Members of the community – from neighbours to professionals and city leaders – are invited to lead discussions with the soon-to-be new citizens that encourage the sharing of stories, experiences and perspectives.
The event begins at 1 p.m., followed by a swearing-in ceremony at 2:30 p.m.
