Daniel Sailland, currently the top municipal employee in Pemberton, is the Town of Qualicum Beach’s new chief administrative officer.
Sailland will start his new job Sept. 2.
“Daniel brings strong operational experience with public and private sector work and policy development,” said Qualicum Beach Mayor Teunis Westbroek. “He also holds an established background in partnership development within a wide cross section of political and economic environments. Council is confident that Daniel will help us meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world by seizing positive opportunities for Qualicum Beach.
Originally from St. Gabriel-de-Valcartier, Quebec, a small agricultural community north of Quebec City, Sailland has since worked in management and senior management positions across Canada and internationally over the past 16 years. Sailland leaves his most recent position having overseen the completion of a boundary extension, a new OCP, downtown revitalization initiatives, and renewed bylaws and policies targeted at investment, according to a news release from the town.
