There’s officially a new fried chicken spot in town.
The Church’s Chicken at 32525 London Ave in The Junction Shopping Centre opened yesterday, providing Missionites a chance to taste the U.S.-based chain at home.
New locations have been popping up throughout the Lower Mainland, including one in Abbotsford and another in Chilliwack.
The franchise started in 1952 in Texas, and expanded into Canada in 1979. According to the brand’s website, Church’s hand-batters every piece of chicken and bakes fresh biscuits all day long. The menu offers all sorts of chicken options, burgers, wraps, wings, fries, cole slaw, honey-butter biscuits and a variety of sides.
The new restaurant will be competing with several other specialty chicken restaurants in the community, including Brownies Chicken and Seafood and a KFC location.
Current hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
