The Revy Auto Group plans to continue its string of successes with Nissan dealerships on Vancouver Island with the opening of a new one in Duncan.
Nissan of Duncan, the first Nissan dealership in the Cowichan Valley since the 1980s, held its grand opening on July 9 at its location on 439 Trans Canada Hwy.
Service manager Quinton Darnell said the Revy Auto Group, the dealership’s owner, has changed its service model to make customer service its main priority.
He said the Group applied this business model when it bought the Nissan dealership in the Comox Valley a number of years ago and successfully changed it from one doing “mediocre” business to one that provides a “high volume” of sales and service to the community.
“They took that recipe for success to Nanaimo when the Revy Auto Group bought the Nissan dealership there last year and also turned that operation into a high-volume business, and now the model will be applied here,” Darnell said.
“We’re hoping that the people in the Cowichan Valley will give us a chance to earn their business.”
Darnell is no stranger to the auto-sales business and spent 30 years in the industry.
He said that as a result of acquiring a “clear understanding” of customers’ needs and expectations after so long in the business, going to work for the Revy Auto Group with its new customer-based service model was a “natural fit” for him.
“We can work on Nissan cars here in the Valley, regardless if they were bought at this dealership or not, and save customers a day trip to Victoria,” Darnell said.
“We have a service shuttle and free service loaners, and we’ll wash and vacuum your cars free with every visit. We’ll also have a free barbecue every Friday at noon for our customers.”
