The first part of Kelowna’s new downtown public pier project has taken shape.
The small ticket building, and the first part of the commercial dock is now in place just off Kerry Park downtown.
The project, being built by Westcorp, includes a large main floating public pier and adjacent 68 hourly and daily-use boat slips, the nearby commercial dock and several wooden buildings. The commercial dock will accommodate seven commercial boats.
Currently, components of the main pier are being built on the Westside of the lake and will be floated into position later this month. The target date for completion of entire $5.1 million pier project is early next month.
