Leadership is changing at the Interior Health Authority.

John O’Fee, a Kamloops resident, will take over as board chairperson when Erwin Malzer’s term ends Dec. 3.

“Mr. O’Fee is a worthy successor to the role of board chair, with his wealth of experience in board governance and connection with communities,” said Terry Lake, B.C.’s health minister.

“I am confident he will continue to provide the board and the health authority with the same sage advice as his predecessors, with a continued emphasis on patient-centred care,” said Lake.

O’Fee has been a school trustee, city councillor and regional district chairperson in Kamloops, as well as  president of the Thompson Rivers University Foundation.

Malzer, who is from Kelowna, has been IHA chairperson since January 2015.
